Winter Fair 2015

On Friday 4th December 2015, Jessop celebrated an outstanding Winter Fair with our local community. Jessop staff really appreciated the support given by parents in helping to organise this event. There was a fantastic range of activities from gingerbread decorating and nail painting to Santa’s fall, ensuring that all members of our families were having fun. Soup, hotdogs and hot chocolate kept everyone warm and the violinists and singers added to the exciting atmosphere. Everyone left with smiles on their painted faces. We are pleased to announce that this year an amazing £700.30 was raised for the school. A huge thank you to all of the parents, carers and staff who came and contributed to the fair.

National Theatre - Comedy of Errors - Performance at JPS

On Tuesday 1st December the children in Years 5 and 6 were treated to an amazing adaptation of Shakespeare's "A Comedy of Errors" by the National Theatre Company. The stage was positioned in the centre of the hall with children sitting around the outside. The children were mesmerised and encapsulated by the performance. At the end they took part in a question and answer session with the performers.

Talented Artists

Six talented artists from Year 4-6 have had the exciting opportunity of attending Art workshops, run by a specialist art teacher at Christchurch Primary School. Christchurch Primary School organised this amazing event through the Brixton Learning Collaborative. The children created pieces of art around the theme of ‘Water’. They looked at the colours and movements when designing their own pieces. The children were able to develop skills using clay and fabric and have been printing their designs. We had fantastic reports back from Christchurch, both in terms of their fantastic behaviour, but also in regards to their learning.

The children’s work will be exhibited:
Pop Brixton, Brixton Station Road, 49 Brixton Station Rd, London SW9 8PQ
Thursday 10th December at 1.30pm – 2.30pm

The children will be able to see their work being shown and parents have also been invited.
